Projects and Events
The Clarkston Coalition for Youth is involved in and coordinates many projects and events in our community all in effort to continue our mission: to increase positive youth development through community partnerships, providing every youth with the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
Our current projects and events include:
Annual Spring Break Brochure (tri-fold brochure): This is an informational brochure that is mailed to all parents of 8th graders. The brochure discusses the concept of “spring break” and how to assist in planning a safe vacation for their children.

Clarkston's Family Health and Fitness Expo: The expo is an opportunity for the Clarkston members to discover what's happening in our community. Information is available about Developmental Assests, marijuana use, alcohol use, precsiption drug use, and safe disposal of prescription drugs.
Clarkston's Junior High School Transition Day: The Clarkston Coalition for Youth partnered with CJHS Leadership students in order to prepare the 7th graders with the tools and checkpoints they need to make their journey through Clarkston Junior High a succesful one.
Sashabaw Middle School Transition Day: The Clarkston Coalition for Youth partnered with SMS Leadership students in order to prepare the 5th graders with the tools and checkpoints they need to make their journey through Sashabaw Middle School a succesful one.
Project Sticker Shock: This is a project that is conducted in our community to prevent underage drinking and selling alcohol to minors. In cooperation with local police and retailers, volunteers and teens from the Clarkston High School SADD Club, place bright orange stickers on alcoholic beverages with a message to adult purchasers not to provide or sell alcohol to minors- hence the name "Project Sticker Shock".
Operation Medicine Cabinet: The Clarkston Coalition for Youth is partnering with Oakland County Sheriff's Office, and Home Instead Senior Care. Thi sporgram available at the Independence Township substation on Citation Drive will allow a safe place to drop off your expired or unused prescriptions. We are proud to announce that this program will go into effect on April 27, 2011.
Sheriff Bouchard's Cyber Bullying Presentation: The Clarkston Coalition for Youth is partnering with Oakland County Sheriff's Office to present information about cyber bullying to students, parents, and other considered community individuals.
College Scholarships: The Clarkston Coalition for Youth provides college scholarships to Clarkston High School and Renaissance High School Students.
